1. The TREND ~ Modern Monochrome

What’s your favourite colour?  Ever thought you would love a room full of blue?

Well, have no fear, your time has arrived. Monochromatic colour schemes make use of all the shades, tones, and tints of a single base hue. Be it bold or subdued, a monochromatic room is all about you.

2. THE QUESTIONS ~

Does it have to be black and white?

Absolutely not. Gone is the monotony and starkness of black and white designs. Be creative with different textures, patterns, shapes, finishes, and materials, or even add a splash of contrasting colour for an element of surprise.

The Bedroom

Bedrooms are a great place to start - it’s where we spend most of our time, and it’s a comfortable, safe space to manage. By beginning with paint or wallpaper, then adding a bed head, linens, a throw cushion and a rug, your dreams will come to life in less than forty winks.

Go BOLD

If you are feeling confident and ready to go all in, then be brave and go bold! Mind you, this is not for the faint-hearted. However, by incorporating neutrals, like white, you can gently interrupt the palette, and with different patterns and finishes, like a lacquer paint, you’ll create a masterpiece.

Neutrals

If you’d like to experiment but you’re not quite comfortable making a dramatic splash, consider the use of monochrome neutrals. Select your favourite base neutral - white, grey, or tan for example. Begin to texture and layer - a velvet cushion here, a small print window dressing there, a timber feature furniture selection, a brass lighting fixture. The more variations the better when creating your beautiful, inviting, cosy living room of predominantly beige.
